A fabulously rare medieval period large iron dagger.
This item which dates to circa 14th -15th century AD, is in fully conserved condition.
It has a thick robust iron blade which still retains all but the end of the handle. The handle itself still has present a section of its original wooden grip which is now fossilised in place. A rare survivor of the period, which would make an ideal centre piece for any collection.
It would have been a secondary weapon either to a mounted knight or a man at arms and as such a very desirable item.
Ex. North Yorkshire find and collection...1970s.
Size 34.5 CM in Length.
As with all of my antiquities and coins this item comes complete with a certificate of authenticity.
