A very fine quality upper Paleolithic period flint burin.
This item which dates to circa 50,000-12,000 BC, is in wondrful allover condition.
A burin has a chisel like working edge and was used to carve and engrave bone, Antler,
wood and leather to show decoration or creating artwork..
Of quite a large size which is seldom encountered.
Some lovely cortex remaining.
Size 9.7 CM in Length
Ex. South coast collection formed 1969.
