A large Roman military bronze crossbow style cloak brooch.
This item which dates to circa late 3rd - the early 4th century AD, is a wonderful item.
It is of a larger size than normally encountered of this type and would have secured the heavy cloak of a Roman
Legionary soldier.
Complete with original fastening pin and a stunning green patination to the bronze.
Of wonderful proportion and style.
Norfolk excavations in the 1970s.
Size 8.0 CM in Length.
Possible small old collection restoration to the top of the foot plate as shown.
All very stable and solid and only mentioned for accuracy.
As with all of my antiquities and coins this item comes complete with a display box together with a certificate of authenticity.
