A very rare and seldom seen medieval period terracotta shallow skillet.
This item which dates to circa 1400 -1500 AD, is a fabulous item.
It has been professionally rebuilt to museum standards from all of its original shards and still retains much of its original carbon staining from use.
It would have had a long handle in its time but sadely now lost in antiquity.
These items are incredibly rare to find and if available only in fragments...
A fabulous piece that would compliment any collection.
Ex. Thames foreshore excavations London ( Blackfriars Area late 1970s ).
Size 31.0 X 23.5 CM .
Ex. Private Collection 1970s.
As with all of my antiquities and coins this item comes complete with a certificate of authenticity.
