The cover interior with presentation inscription to Jospeph Ballingall from the family of Vice Admiral Sir Thomas Harvey KCB, for erecting a monument to their late father. Vice Admiral Sir Thomas Harvey KCB (1775 - 1841) saw service in the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars, before becoming Commander-in-Chief West Indies Station. The Vice Admiral distinguished himself, under his father, at the Glorious First of June (Fourth Battle of Ushant) in 1794. He served on HMS Ramillies, HMS Prince of Wales, HMS Lacedemonian, HMS Pelican, HMS Lapwing, HMS Unite, HMS Standard, HMS Majestic, HMS Sceptre and HMS Northumberland. In 1807 he took part in the attempt by Admiral Duckworth to force the Dardanelles and drive the Turkish Empire out of the war. He died at Admiralty House in Bermuda and is buried on the island.
