Admiral Lord Richard Howe, 1st Earl Howe, Tassie Bas-Relief White Glass Paste Portrait Profile Plaque Dated 1798, Signed Tassie F. The oval frame with brown velvet backing and gilt wood. The exterior with faded gilt wood. Brown paper backing to the reverse and a suspension loop.
The bust text reads, 'ADMIRAL EARL HOWE 1798'. The 'Tassie F' signature is to the left of this, but cannot be photographed as it appears in the bottom left corner and is almost touching the inner border of the frame.
Admiral Howe (1726 - 1799) was a Royal Navy Officer, politician and peer. He served in the War of the Austrian Succession, the Seven Years War, the American Revolutionary War, the Great Siege of Gibraltar and the Glorious First of June, during the French Revolutionary Wars.

In reasonable display condition. The bust has been restored and overpainted in areas. This can be seen in the area of the collar and a diagonal line running through the thinner section of the epaulette. One very small area of restoration under the nose. A small loss to the very top of the head (best seen in photo 3).
