A Pair Of Dark Ages Period, Solid Silver Ladies Brooches.

A very good quality pair of dark ages period ,ladies solid silver cloak brooches.

This pair which date to circa the 5th -7th century AD, are in wonderful allover condition..

There are some remains of the silver spring to the reverse of one of the brooches but the fastening pins have long since perished in antiquity. 

With large radiate style head plates this pair would have belonged to a lady of wealth and standing in the community. A Small tip from one head plate missing as can be seen and expected due to soil compression in the ground.
