An absolutely fabulous english civil war period solid silver spur buckle and plate.
This item which dates to circa the 1640s,is in wonderful allover condition.
This particular item is almost certainly Royalist and would have belonged to an officer loyal to king Charles 1st of England.
With a makers mark clearly visible on the silver plate this item would have belonged to a wealthy officer.
From a period in time when the forces of Charles 1st did battle against those of oliver cromwell.
Size 4.7 CM in Length.
Excavations at the Royalist seige town of Newark on Tent Nottinghamshire in the early 1970s.
