Description
A fabulous quality stone age, danish neolithic period, large semi polished flint axe head.
This item which dates to circa 3000BC , is in wonderful allover condition.
It has a very impressive cutting edge as shown which still retains its semi polishing on both sides, a process that would have taken many hours of hard work.
The flint is of a dark cream almost grey colour with some distinctive mottled high lights..
A fabulous axe of a large size..
Size 16.0 CM in Length x 7.0 CM at the widest point on the cutting edge.
Originally excavated in Demark in the 1950s ,then Old South of England collection formed in the 1970s....
As with all of my antiquities and coins this item comes complete with a display box together with a certificate of authenticity.
