A very fine quality bronze age socket and loop axe head.

This item which dates to circa 900 -600 BC, is in excellent allover condition.

It still retains its original fastening loop which would have secured it by a leather thong to the original wooden haft ( handle ).

It is further enhanced by a dark brown patination to the bronze which makes this a very desirable item indeed.

Size 13.0 CM in Length.

From original excavations in Bournemouth in 1969.
