Description
A very good quality group of four English Civil War iron cannon grape shot.
These pieces which date to the early 1640s are from a time when the forces of King Charles 1st did battle against those of Oliver Cromwell..
They would have been loaded into the barrels of cannon in huge quantity and fired at point blank range at columns of advancing infantry and causing devastation in the ranks.
