William IV period Sheffield plated inkstand with central taperstick holder. Circa 1835 - 1840. The stand is raised upon four bracket feet and features a very fine leaf, flower and scroll raised border. Two glass inkwells sit either side of a taperstick holder with snuffer.
In very good order with no dents or splits to the stand or taperstick holder. The glass inkwells have some damage to the top rim of one and bases of both, as shown in the pictures. None of this damage affects the use of the inkwells and cannot be seen when placed in the stand.
Approximate weight is 1.25 kilos.
Approximate dimensions are 23 cm length, 16 cm width and 11 cm height.
