A Late Victorian Silver Trophy Cup & Cover in the George I Style. Features twin acanthus capped scroll handles and a central girdle. Raised on a graduated circular foot. The graduated domed cover with turned disc finial.
The body and cover are both hallmarked for London 1900 by Edward Barnard & Sons Ltd.
Approximate silver weight is 1.041 kilos or 33.4 troy ounces.
Approximate total weight, including wooden base, is 1.909 kilos.
Approximate cup and cover dimensions are 28.5 cm height, 24 cm handle to handle length and 14.2 cm diameter.
Approximate height with base is 36.5 cm.
In good, original, condition being free of engravings & inscriptions. The cup and cover have not been erased. Free of dents, creases and repair. The covering to the underside of the wooden base slightly loose. Any patches, or dark marks, shown in the photos are just reflections.
