A Victorian three piece silver coffee set of good gauge. Each piece profusely decorated with maritime scenes.
The crest is that of the Lucas family and can be attributed to Sir Thomas Lucas (1822 - 1902) 1st Baronet of Ashtead Park, Surrey. He was awarded The Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve Officers' Decoration. He made his fortune in the building industry and his company was involved in the construction of Charing Cross & Cannon Street Stations, The Royal Albert Hall, Alexandra Palace and The Royal Italian Opera House. His London home is now the Nepalese Embassy. A heraldry report accompanies this item.
The coffee pot and cream jug are hallmarked for London 1867 & the sugar bowl is hallmarked for London 1872. All three pieces have the makers mark of R & S Garrard & Co. and feature the retail stamp of Garrards, Panton Street, London.
In excellent order with very light surface wear commensurate with age. No dents, creases or splits.
Approximate weight of all three pieces is 1.782 kilos or 57 troy ounces.
