The Duke of Wellington: Large Bronze Relief Portrait Profile Roundel, After George Gammon Adams, circa 1853.

George Adams (1821 1898) was a sculptor and medallist. He exhibited at the Great Exhibition in 1851 and was chosen to make the death mask of the Duke of Wellington.

In excellent condition with a fine patina. There are three mounting holes, one at the top and one to each side. Traces of a white material to the reverse, possibly from a previous mounting.

Approximate weight is 1.04 kilos.

Approximate diameter is 24 cm.
