Pair of Gilt Framed Prints of Lord Nelson & The Emperor Napoleon, After Baxter.
The coloured print depicts a half-length portrait of Horatio Nelson. He is shown in rear-admiral's uniform wearing the Star and Ribbon of the Bath and the Naval Gold Medal. Nelson lost his right arm in battle, to reflect this the sleeve of his right arm is pinned across his chest. The original artist was Lemuel Francis Abbott. George Baxter originally made prints of this painting.
These prints are most probably early 20th century copies of the original Baxter prints.
In excellent condition with a couple of minor losses to the top of the Nelson gilt frame.
Approximate weight for the pair is 1.155 kilos.
Approximate dimensions of one are 27 cm length, 21.5 cm width and 2.5 cm depth.
