Elegant and increasingly collectible Omega Genève pocket watch dating from 1970, reference UT 121.1740, fitted with the dependable Omega calibre 960 manual wind movement.
Featuring a crisp white dial with bold Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds and a substantial 48mm case, this is an excellent example of Omega's later pocket watch production. The dial remains beautifully clean, complemented by original hands and a clear crystal, giving the watch a timeless and highly legible appearance.
At its heart is the Omega calibre 960, a 17-jewel manual wind movement renowned for its reliability and ease of servicing. The movement has reportedly been professionally serviced and winds, sets and runs smoothly.
The watch was serviced about a year ago and has been tested on a professional timegrapher and is currently exhibiting healthy performance, recording an amplitude of approximately 259° with an excellent beat error of just 0.2ms, indicating a movement that is operating very well and that had been serviced.
Pocket watches were becoming increasingly uncommon by the 1970s, making original Omega examples from this period particularly desirable. With its classic styling, quality Swiss manufacture and impressive presentation, this piece would make an excellent addition to a collection or a distinctive everyday companion.
Presented in excellent working order and comes with its pocket watch box and albert chain.
