Major General Christopher Sullivan Fagan, Honourable East India Company, A George IV blue & white transfer printed Spode armorial fruit bowl circa 1828 - 30.

The arms are for Fagan impaling Baldock and Moule, commemorating the two marriages of Major General Christopher Sullivan Fagan (1781 - 1843), born in Ireland, later of Conock Manor, Chirton, Wiltshire and Hendon House, Hendon. The Fagan family were, historically, important Dublin Merchants. They were on the losing side in the Battle of the Boyne in 1690, after which the family was outlawed and lands confiscated. Christopher Fagan was appointed as a Companion of the Military Division of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath. Other family members also served with the Honourable East India Company. Princess Charlene of Monaco is a direct descendant of Major General Christopher Sullivan Fagan. A professional heraldry report accompanies this item.
