Excellent hand wrought silver letter opener by master silversmith Vincent Ashworth who was based just north of York. Vincent was taught by Arts and Crafts silversmith Bernard Cuznor his career taking him to Zimbabwe, Botswana, New Zealand, London and Yorkshire. The letter opener is simple but beautifully made being hand wrought and decorated from a heavy gauge silver. The underside is slightly concave and some of the planishing is still discernible.
Vincent was registered at the London assay office where this was hallmarked in 1996.
Nice patina. It has good clear hallmarks. It will come with a protective presentation box.
