Description

Georgian, George III, silver pedestal jug. Of plain baluster form with domed cover terminating in an orb finial. Features ebonised loop handle and a reeded circular pedestal foot. The top rim of the ewer is also reeded. Free of any inscriptions, engravings or chasing. This was most likely used as a hot water or wine jug.

In excellent order with light surface wear commensurate with age. Possible replacement pedestal stem.

Hallmarked to the underside of the base for London 1795 by Henry Chawner. Further part hallmarked to the inside of the domed cover with the lion passant.

Approximate weight is 662 grams or 21 troy ounces.

Approximate dimensions are 27 cm height,  16 cm length and 10.5 cm depth.
