Georgian, George III, Silver Tea & Coffee Service. The service comprises of a pedestal coffee pot and teapot, both with ebonised loop handles, as well as a twin handled sugar bowl and cream jug. The sugar and creamer both have gilded interiors and reeded inner rims & handles. All four pieces are monogrammed and feature bands of foliate chasing. The coffee pot cover rises to a reeded knop surmounted by a silver acorn finial. The coffee pot is raised on an oval pedestal foot. Both the teapot and coffee pot feature prick work and wriggle work decoration.
In excellent order with very light surface wear, commensurate with age. Free of dents, creases & splits. The coffee pot and teapot have both been leak tested and are watertight. The monogram on the creamer appears to contain only the last letter H. Some heat clouding marks around the spout of the teapot.
Each piece is hallmarked for London 1800 by John Emes. The second letter of the maker's mark on the coffee pot is rubbed.
Approximate weight for all four pieces is 1.840 kilos or 59 troy ounces.
