Georgian, George III, Old Sheffield Plate inkstand, circa 1800. Features two associated cut glass ink bottles with what may be the original mounts for a dip pen ink bottle and a pounce bottle. The inkstand is raised on four ornate paw feet and the underside has securing pins for the bottle holders. The border is reeded and sweeps upwards at each end terminating in scrolled decoration. The central "honey pot" container has a fixed cover, orb finial and holds three dip pens.
In excellent order with light surface wear commensurate with age. There is no damage to the glass or Old Sheffield Plate inkstand. There is a little warm copper bleed.
