Georgian, George III, Old Sheffield Plate Argyle, circa 1790. Raised on a circular pedestal foot with reeded detail. The domed pull off cover with orb finial. Composite loop handle and straight spout. The Argyle would have been used to serve gravy and would originally have held a hot water tube inside the main body.
In good condition with some light copper bleed. Traces of solder marks to the top rim, at the top of the pedestal base and where the spout joins the body. Free of dents and creases.
Approximate weight is 357 grams.
Approximate dimensions are 17.3 cm height, 19 cm length and 9 cm depth.
