Madras, a 100% cotton woven lace, is named after the city in India where the Victorians set up lace making factories in the mid 19th century. the weaving process for Madras lace is slow, taking a full day to produce twelve yards. The cotton is woven onto a net that is so sheer it resembles silk. This is the very finest lace made today. The result is a truly magnificent fabric with a rich overlay of pattern.
Although all the Madras fabrics are as sheer as silk, the solid weave of the lace offers considerable privacy.
An elegant and normally very costly fabric, Madras is currently on display in the White House in a number of room settings
This is an original design made only for the top design houses across Europe, this is a contemporary style design. Beautiful shades of brown in colour with original retro detailing, decorating this 60s sqcircles design lace curtaining. This lace curtaining has finished sides and is raw unfinished along the Bottom and top edges
We do have a seamstress who can finish the panel for you creating a readymade rod pocket and hem for £8 per panel.
