This striking Silver marcasite brooch is a superb example of the flowing ‘Whiplash’ style associated with the late Edwardian and early Art Deco periods. Bold and elegant in design, the brooch features an asymmetrical form with sweeping curves, delicate fronds, and stylised flower heads that create a graceful sense of movement and artistry.
The intricate silverwork is richly accented with sparkling marcasite stones, enhancing the dramatic lines and giving the piece a refined vintage shimmer.
Measuring approximately 2 inches in length and 1½ inches across, this is a wonderfully substantial statement piece with strong period character. The reverse is stamped “SILVER”, confirming its silver composition.
