An Austrian Jugendstil 800 Silver Cigarette Case with Cabochon Sapphire & Inset Highlights.
In excellent condition with moderate surface wear commensurate with age. Free of repair and dents. The case fastens and opens normally with the hinge in good order.
Each side of the cigarette case is marked 800, with the maker's mark and the dog head silver symbol. The case dates to circa 1890 - 1910 and the maker used the initials JL (there were several Austrian silversmiths using these initials at the time).
Approximate weight is 110 grams or 3.5 troy ounces.
Approximate dimensions are 10.5 cm length, 7.6 cm width and 1.4 cm depth.
