A rare and early Asprey, Victorian, silver and leather clad hip flask. The flask features a screw cap with a cork lined interior. The detachable silver cup fits snugly around a glass base, with the upper section covered in dark brown leather.
In excellent order with no glass, leather, or silver damage. The hallmarks are rubbed in places, but still legible.
The cup and the cap are hallmarked for London 1876 by Charles Asprey & Charles Asprey Junior. This hallmark was registered in February 1876 and was the first year that Asprey hallmarked their own silver. The underside of the cup features the Asprey London retail stamp.
