A very fine quality anglo saxon bronze stirrup mount, circa 10th century AD.
This item which is in stunning condition would have been mounted on the leather strap directly above the iron horse stirrup..
It shows a sitting wolf with his head thrown back howling likely at the moon.
A fabulous piece of a type seldom offered for sale.
Size 4.3 CM in Length.
From Norfolk excavations in 1974.
As with all of my antiquities and coins this item comes complete with a display box together with a certificate of authenticity.
