A very rare and seldom seen stuart period latten (sheet brass) spoon, with a fabulous pineapple shaped terminal.
This item which dates to the 17th century AD, is in excellent allover condition.
It has a makers mark to the bowl and a wonderful dark patination to the metal as shown which is typical of item excavated from the river thames foreshore such as this.
Interestingly enough the pineapple was a sign of wealth and standing and this piece likely belonged to a person of that social group.
River Thames excavations 1976 / Private collection.
Size 17.2 CM in Length.
As with all of my antiquities and coins this item comes complete with a display box together with a certificate of authenticity.
