A very rare to find roman military solid silver cloak brooch together with a solid silver denarius coin.
These pieces which date to circa 2nd -3rd century AD, are wonderful examples from the period...
The brooch almost certainly would have been worn by a roman officer and although the fastening pin and spring have been lost in antiquity the brooch is of fabulous style and proportion.
The denarius coin was found in close proximity to the brooch so I've paired them together as they travel through history.
Size of Brooch 6.2 CM in Length/ Denarius Coin 1.7 CM in Dia.
