A massively rare to find roman military bronze waist belt buckle and plate.
This item which is of the balteus style, dates to circa 3rd century AD.
It comprises of an openwork buckle with its original fastening pin together with its connected belt plate with openwork design.
There is some small losses to the intricate design on the buckle plate as can be seen , but only what would be expected given that it is over 1700 years old.
In fabulous condition and a rare example of roman military equipment.
Lincolnshire excavations in the 1970s.
Size 10.2 CM in Length.
As with all of my antiquities and coins this item comes complete with a display box together with a certificate of authenticity.
