Description
A very rare to find roman military terracotta roof tile section, showing the cypher of the 16th Legion.
This item which dates to circa 1st century AD, clearly shows EG XV1.= LEG XV1.
This stands for LEGIO XV1 ( 16TH legion ).These tiles were made by various legions and stamped with there Legion number , as they not only fought battles but built roads and settlements.
