An Incredibly rare roman ladies bronze and enamel frog style cloak brooch.
This item which dates to circa 2nd century AD, is a rare survivor of the period.
It is of good heavy cast bronze and has much of its original enamel inlay still remaining.
Only half of its original fastening pin to the reverse still remains ,and is likely how it was lost in the roman period.
A much sort after brooch seldom seen outside of important collections.
Excellent style and form.
Size 4.1 CM in Length.
Norfolk collection formed inv1971.
As with all of my antiquities and coins this item comes complete with a display box together with a certificate of authenticity.
