A vintage Moorcroft vase in the Palmata design by Shirley Hayes.
The height is 95mm.
In 1990 Moorcroft started to use year cyphers on their pottery i.e. symbols on the base to show when an item was made, which may be different to the copyright date. The base stamps on this vase include ©99 as the design copyright date and the Key with double M for the teeth symbol to show year 2000 as the actual year of production.
The design appears on several items in the Moorcroft 2000 catalogue.
Vintage items may have imperfections and/or idiosyncrasies due to the manufacturing processes of the day, usage perhaps over many years and how an item has been stored but any significant issues will always be highlighted in the description.
This vase has been closely inspected and assessed as in excellent vintage condition with only a quite small amount of the crazing typically associated with vintage Moorcroft pottery.
The vase is available by online order only however if planning to visit the Antiques Centre in York please visit Cabinet 138 situated on the Lower Ground Floor to view a selection of Moorcroft Pottery from early vintage pieces to more modern examples.
