An antique Moorcroft vase in the Wisteria design by William Moorcroft c1920's.
The height is 83mm
The base of the vase has MOORCROFT, MADE IN ENGLAND and a shape identification number backstamps,all impressed.
In assessing the age of this vase the base marks have been compared against those shown in one of the reference books recommended by Moorcroft and indicate a date range c1918 to 1926. The reference book advises similar stamps are found from 1926 to 1928 but without an impressed shape identification number due to a change in the manufacturing process. As this vase has the shape identification number is can reasonably be assessed as c1918 to 1926. Furthermore the reference book shows design matches for items 1920 to c1925 which fits in nicely with the date assessment.
The vase is in excellent overall condition.
An opportunity for a collector to add a nice piece of antique Moorcroft pottery to a collection.
