A vintage Moorcroft vase in the Hibiscus pattern by Walter Moorcroft.
The height is 135mm (5.31inch).
An attractive design on the somewhat rarer yellow tone ground.
The hibiscus pattern has been one of Moorcroft's most enduring designs with a number of developments over the years. Originally drawn by Walter Moorcroft c1949 developments included changes in the early 1960's, the coral hibiscus pattern been introduced in 1968 and further designs following on for some years.
This vase has the 'Potters To The Late Queen Mary' paper label on the base, and as this label was used from 1953 to 1978 the vase can be dated to this period, and is clearly of genuine vintage age.
Condition: Vintage items may have small imperfections and/or idiosyncrasies due to the manufacturing processes of the day, usage perhaps over many years and how an item has been stored but any significant issues will always be highlighted in the description.
This vase has been closely inspected and assessed as in good vintage condition. In fact if it were not for a small 'flake' off the lower part of one petal, as can just be seen from image 3, the vase would have achieved an excellent assessment and be offered for sale at a significantly higher price.
This vintage Moorcroft hibiscus vase is available by online order only. If planning to visit the Antiques Centre in York other pieces of Moorcroft pottery can be also be viewed in Cabinet 138 situated on the lower ground floor.
