A fabulous quality Stuart period tinned brass spoon.
This item which dates to the period of king charles 2nd , is in wonderful allover condition.
Dating to circa 1680AD, this item is complete with three makers marks stamped into the flared handle terminal. When this item was made in the later part of the 17th century this piece was made to resemble the solid silver spoons of the day , and interestingly where there is ware on the spoon the brass metal can be seen. A wonderful piece from a period just after the English civil war and the restoration of the monarchy.
Size 17.2 CM in Length.
Ex. Thames Foreshore excavations in the 1970s.
As with all of my antiquities and coins this item comes complete with a display box together with a certificate of authenticity.
