A very nice example of a Chinese wooden devotional figure. This item which dates to circa 17th -early 18th century AD, still retains much original paint pigment. It would have been placed in a shrine area and prayers offered to the god.The prayers were often left in the small depositary slot in the rear of the statue..A nice example of a rear item.
