A very rare to find, ritually killed, in other words broken , British bronze age sword.
This item which dates to circa 1400-700 BC, is in wonderful original condition.
Likely ritually broken on the death of the owner in the bronze age period, and used as an offering to the gods.
It is as shown in two distinct pieces and the blade section has a minor bends as shown , which was typical of this practice..
A lovely inscribed border to the blade and a altogether fabulous patination to the metal..
An old Norfolk collection find dating from the late 1950s early 1960s.
Size 48.0 CM in Length.
As with all of my antiquities and coins this item comes complete with a certificate of authenticity.
