A very rare to find, large british bronze age , palstave axe head with a splayed cutting edge.

This item which dates to circa 1500 -1400 BC, is a very rare survivor.

Of a large size with much presence, this piece has some surface pitting to the metal as shown.

It is totally stable and the pitting is likely due to the original soil conditions.

A Large axe with good style and form.

Size 16.6 CM in Length.

Northgate collection early 1970s.

As with all of my antiquities and coins this item comes complete with a display box, together with a certificate of authenticity.
