First half of the 19th century Sheffield Plated octagonal inkstand with lion mask handles & lion paw feet, circa 1830 - 1850. Features a leaf capped cover lifting to reveal twin glass inkwells and a lidded compartmant for sealing wax. The inkstand is raised on four lion paw feet and has twin lion mask handles. The top rim is reeded and the bottom rim beaded.
In very good order with moderate surface wear, pitting to the underside and some copper bleed. No damage to the glass bottles. One side of the cover has a slight gap when closed.
Approximate weight is 1.35 kilos.
Approximate dimensions are 25 cm length, 13 cm width and 8 cm height.
