Georgian, George IV, Silver Inkstand. Of rectangular form and raised on four bracket feet. Features two cut glass ink bottles, compartment for sealing wax, taperstick holder, snuffer and two pen rests. All pieces with identical reeded borders.
The inkstand base, bottle holders, one bottle mount, bottle collars, taperstick holder, taperstick nozzle and snuffer are all hallmarked for London 1825 by R, J & S Garrard. One bottle mount is not hallmarked but appears to be original. Further marked 'Garrards Panton Street, London' to the underside of the base.
In excellent original condition, free of dents, creases or repairs. No glass damage, save for some interior ink staining.
Approximate total hallmarked silver weight is 1.388 kilos or 44.6 troy ounces.
