Georgian, George III, huge Old Sheffield Plate salver. Of circular form with a Chippedale rim. Raised on four scrolled feet. Features a central armorial with later, Victorian, chasing.
This is an early piece as it has the rolled over silver edges.
In excellent order with moderate wear commensurate with age. It sits level and is free of dents. Light copper bleed to the main surface.
Marked to the rear with a spread eagle for Smith & Co. Birmingham, circa 1780 - 1790.
