A fine, George II silver lidded tankard with C scroll handle, thumb piece and later inscription and fine chasing. Clearly hallmarked to the lid and base for London 1759 with the unidentified silversmith who signed it R.C.
There are no repairs, dints, dents or even surface wear marks.
The inscription relates to the Leicestershire Agricultural Society and is dated 1853.
Approximate weight is 750 grams or 24 troy ounces.
