Description

A fine, George II, silver lidded tankard with C scroll handle, domed cover, thumb piece and later inscription, with later fine foliate and scroll chasing. The inscription relates to the Leicestershire Agricultural Society and is dated 1853.

Clearly hallmarked to the lid and base for London 1759 by Robert Albin Cox.

There are no dints, dents or splits. Light surface wear.
 
Approximate weight is 750 grams or 24 troy ounces.
 
Approximate dimensions are 19 cm height, 16 cm width from widest point of handle and 11 cm depth.
