Description

Georgian, George II, silver coffee pot, featuring a domed cover with turned finial and fruitwood handle. The pot features an armorial to one side and the monograms of a couple to the other. Later chased with scrolls and foliate decoration. Underneath the armorial is the Latin motto ESSE QUAM VIDERI which translates as TO BE, RATHER THAN TO SEEM.

Condition is excellent, with light surface wear commensurate with age.

Hallmarked to the underside of the base and inside of the cover for London 1759 by Thomas Whipham & Charles Wright.

Approximate weight is 716 grams or 23 troy ounces.

Approximate dimensions are 21 cm height, 20 cm spout to handle length and 10 cm depth.
