Description

Georgian, early George III, silver coffee pot of baluster form. Features a domed cover with gadrooned rim and scroll handle. Monogrammed to one side and raised on a circular foot. In original condition with no later chasing.

In excellent order with moderate surface wear and very light pressure marks commensurate with age. The base of the handle has a diamond shaped strengthening plate. A little clouding of the silver. Possible small erasure to one side, but not thin. It is very small and most likely to have been a crest.

Rubbed hallmarks for London 1761 by William Shaw II. Further part hallmarked to the inside rim of the cover.

Approximate weight is 814 grams or 26 troy ounces.

Approximate dimensions are 25.5 cm height, 21 cm length and 10.5 cm depth.
