George V silver armorial inkstand in the early George II style. Features two silver cylindrical ink pots and a silver cylindrical sander pot. Of rectangular form with a raised border and supported by four rounded feet.
Features the arms of Brocklehurst & Lascelles. The arms commemorate the marriage of Captain Henry Dent Brocklehurst (1855 - 1932) of Sudeley Castle, Winchcombe, Gloucestershire and Marion Lascelles (1856 - 1938). Henry was a Captain in the 2nd Life Guards. A heraldry report accompanies this item.
The inkstand base, three silver ink/sander pots and their covers are all hallmarked for London 1924 by D & J Wellby Ltd. The underside of the base also features their Garrick Street, London retail stamp.
In excellent condition with very light surface wear. Free of dents, creases, splits and repairs. The sander does not have a glass liner. The small domed ink pot flip cover does not close fully flush. The cover to one ink pot loose fitting, but identical hallmarks to the pot.
