This pair of antique William IV silver decanter labels is a remarkable and rare detailed set, crafted by George Unite, a prominent Birmingham silversmith.
The labels are shaped like bunches of grapes on vine leaves, the grapes and vine leaves are crafted in a naturalistic style, with finely detailed veining on the leaves and textured, rounded grapes.
One label has the word SHERRY, and the other PORT. They also has what appears to be the original small silver chain for hanging over the decanter or bottle.
They are in excellent condition and have clear hallmarks for Birmingham 1837 and the maker mark George Unite. The Monarch William IV’s head is also on the hallmarks.
