The large midnight blue sapphire of 2.20ct is striking and offers a dramatic contrast against the surrounding diamonds and 18ct Gold setting.
There are 20 x 0.01 diamonds surrounding the sapphire, meticulously set in a 20 x pronged basket setting. This securely holds the stones while allowing light to interact with them, maximizing their sparkle.
The basket setting allows for a more prominent display of the central sapphire and surrounding diamonds, as well as an enhanced view of the stones from various angles.
The ring is in excellent condition and has London hallmarks for 18ct Gold for 1949 and the makers mark DS & Co.
