A vintage Moorcroft boxed squat vase in the Pansy design by Rachel Bishop.
The diameter (across the widest section of the body) is 13.3cm (5.23inch) and the height 10.9cm (4.29inch).
Rachel Bishop joined Moorcroft in 1993 as only the forth designer in the company's history and quickly established herself as a senior designer, and her designs are now widely collected.
The backstamps include ©93 showing 1993 as the design copyright year and the HC year cypher for 1997 showing this as the year the vase was actually made. Interestingly, Moorcroft chose 1997 to be their centenary year i.e. 100 years from when William Moorcroft began his career with James MacIntyre.
The vase has been closely inspected and is in excellent condition.
Nb. As the vase has not been owned since new the box cannot be guaranteed to be the original but it is also in excellent condition.
This Moorcroft Pansy vase is available by online order only however if visiting the Antiques Centre in York please visit Cabinet 138 which is situated on the Lower Ground Floor. Other items of Moorcroft Pottery can also be viewed in the Cabinet i.e. from early vintage pieces to more modern examples.
